In November of 2019, Izumi Suzuki gave a well-received special lecture on the state of the interpreting profession in the U.S. at Osaka Tourism University. Suzuki gives workshop at ATA conference
Izumi Suzuki gave a well-received workshop on deposition interpreting for the Japanese Language Division at the 2019 American Translators Association annual conference.
Hiromi Fujii gives presentations at two Michigan Universities
Hiromi Fujii gave presentations at the University of Michigan and Oakland University in 2019. At the University of Michigan, she gave a workshop on consecutive interpreting to students taking the Japanese translation and interpreting course. In November, she gave a presentation on interpreting and Japanese business to students in the “Introduction to Japan” course taught by Dr. Londo, who is also a staff member of Suzuki Myers & Associates.
Hiromi Fujii interviewed by Detroit Japanese Saturday school students
In October, 2019, Hiromi Fujii was interviewed by students of the Detroit Japanese Saturday School on the subject “Working in Another Culture.” She fielded questions from quite a number of students.

Hiromi Fujii of our staff became a notary public in August of 2019. Our office now has the services of two notaries public.
Office closed for Thanksgiving

Suzuki speaks at U.S.-Japan Council Women’s Leadership Conference
On Wednesday, Sept. 26, Ms. Izumi Suzuki, President of Suzuki-Myers, spoke about “Diverse Paths to Leadership” as part of a panel discussion at the U.S.-Japan Council’s Women’s Leadership Conference in Oakland County (Waterford, MI).
Suzuki described how the “6 C’s of leadership”–Circumstances, Confidence, (self-)Control, Commitment, Compassion, and Communication–shaped the paths to leadership in her life.
The panel and conference received very positive feedback from the dozens of attendees.
